The design of this research is quasi-experimental in the form of pretest- posttest. This research was conducted in Semarang 14 Public High School on September 4 - October 4, 2019. The sample used consisted of two classes taken by Sampling Purposive technique to obtain X MIPA - 5 as an experimental class totaling 34 students and X MIPA - 4 as the control class numbered 34 students, and the test run was done at XI MIPA - 4 which numbered 30 students. Data collection techniques used were tests, non-tests in the form of observation sheets . Based on data analysis, the experimental class pre-test values were 17, 3 and control class 19.9, while the posttest mean score of the experimental class 64 and control class 51, 6, the pretest-posttest results obtained from the two classes showed that there were significant influence student learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class. This is evidenced through the calculation of hypothesis testing using SPSS obtained significance values of 0.022 < 0.05. The results of observations of the psychomotor aspects of the experimental class obtained an average value of phase 1 of 42% with sufficient criteria and an average value of phase 2 of 81% with very good criteria. The results of observations of the affective aspects of the experimental class obtained an average value of phase 1 of 57% with sufficient criteria and an average value of phase 2 of 81% with very good criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of problem-based learning models assisted by animation media can have an influence on student learning outcomes.
