English Department of Unisbank is a small example of a multilingual society. In their exchange, there occurs a contact between their foreign language (English) and native languages (Indonesian and Javanese) which causes variation. This study aimed to investigate the type of language variations and the factor influencing the language variation realized in students? casual exchange. The data were obtained from the casual conversation of the seventh semester of English students? Unisbank in the academic year 2019/2020. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. The data was analyzed through the method of analysis by Miles and Huberman. In analyzing the data, the researcher applied sociolinguistics theory of linguistics and social variation by George Yule (2016). The findings of the research showed that the internal (linguistics) variation covers in phonetical level, and semantic level. The external (social) variation covers speech style, slang, jargon, and taboo terms. However, age, gender, language contact,and language competence are the factor influencing the language variation of English Student of Unisbank.} }
