Therefore, by using mixed methods design which employs corpus-based method such as keyword analysis and analytical framework of appraisal system (Martin & White, 2005), this research explores the topics emerged and how the two hashtags were used in the discussion by identifying Twitter users’ attitude, particularly towards the main topic in the discussion. Based on keyword analysis from 13.964 tweets containing #CharlieHebdo and/or #ParisAttack hashtags posted on 25 September until 1 October 2020, there were found fifteen topics. The topic of attacker including his national and religion background emerged as the main topic indicated by the keyword Pakistan. Furthermore, appraisal analysis reveals that judgment of propriety dominated the attitude of Twitter users which comprises 339 instances followed by appreciation which accounts for 104 instances. Affect which accounts for 53 instances, however, becomes the least attitude of Twitter users. All of the three attitude regions were realized in both inscribed and invoked attitudes. Twitter users employed a range of attitudinal lexis to express their respective attitude realized in the dominant judgment of propriety. Judgment was remarkably found being used to evaluate terrorism behaviours which are attached closely to Pakistan and moreover to Islam in which the attacker is typically treated on account on his nationality and religion background. The users tend to use judgment to frame the incident by the nationality and religion issues.} }
