		abstract={This  study  discusses  about  students?  comprehension  in  reading  an 
announcement text. This research is intended to find out how students' ability to 
comprehend the announcement text. The population and sample of this study were 
students of class X PH  2 at SMKN 2  Tanjungpinang. Samples are taken from   one 
class  to  collect  data.  The  researcher  used  a  short-answer  test  and  used  4 
announcement texts. 
Based  on  the  results,  the  students'  comprehension  in  reading  an 
announcement text was in the good level. It can be seen from the average score of 
students in the value of    79.65  out of 20 students. There were 2  students in the 
very good  category, 9  students in the good category, 8   students in the  moderate
category,  1  student  in  the  low  category,  and  none  of  the  students  were  in  the 
failure  category.  In  conclusion,  most  of  the  students  are  in  the  good  category. 
Unfortunately, there are some students who still have weakness in some aspects 
such  as  in  identifying  main  idea,  in  making  inference,  and  in  understandi ng 
vocabulary.}
