		abstract={The purpose of this research is to find out what are the reading strategies used 
by  the  eleventh  grade  students.  This  research  included  to  descriptive  qualitative 
research. That the results are not described by using numerical data. This research has 
participant as research subject. The participants were 16 eleventh grade students of 
Vocational  High  School  1  Bintan Timur  that  selected  by  using  purposive  sampling 
technique. The students given the questionaire that sould be completed towards their 
reading  strategies.  In  analyzing,  the  data  were  classified  into  each  part  of  reading 
strategies.  This  research  described  about  all  16  students  use  all  of  the  reading 
strategies, but in different scale.}
