		abstract={Ability is a quality or skill possessed by a person that makes it possible to
do something. The purpose of this study was to determine the students' ability to
use  part  of  speech  in  English  in  the  seventh  grade  of  SMPN  17  Bintan.  The
instrument  of  this  research  is  an  essay  test.  Thus,  the  research  conducted
quantitative analysis research. The test contains 20 sentence question with correct
nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. The  results are calculated using individual
scores.  The  individual  score  is  the  result  of  the  correct  answer  divided  by  the
number  of  items  multiplied  100.  The  study  also  shows  that  there  are  some
students who have very good ability about nouns.}
