The purpose of this research was The purpose of by using the study was describe how the student?s speaking skills was improved use card sort of SMPN 1 Bintan. The subjects of this study were 8th grade students of SMPN 1 Bintan. The number of the study was 29 students.
This research was use quantitative research is strategy that focuses on quantifying the collection and analysis of data. The type of research that the researcher uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR in research in the form of action taken by teachers in classroom. The purpose of this study is to raise the standard of instruction focusing on the classroom teaching and learning process.
The results of the research conducted by the researcher showed that the findings were seen from the percentage of students who obtained a score >70 in the speaking test of cycle 2 higher than value of cycle 1. The value of cycle I 67,51% and in cycle 2 was 80,31 %. So, students? speaking skills improved by using card sort in teaching learning process.}
