It aimed to identify both linguistic and non-linguistic issues students encountered while speaking English and the factors contributing to these difficulties. The research utilized a mixed-method approach, gathering data through quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with students. Data analysis for quantitative questionnaires uses a percentage formula for questionnaires while for qualitative data analysis uses data reduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that students mainly struggled with their mother tongue with a percentage of 74% and pronunciation with a percentage of 69%. Fear of making mistakes was found to be a significant factor impeding their speaking abilities. The study concluded with recommendations to address these challenges, such as improving classroom activities, implementing targeted language support programs, and developing strategies to enhance students' confidence and motivation in speaking English.} }
