This study investigated whether the speaking achievement of students taught using the show and tell method achieved better than that of students taught using the lecture method. There were 24 students from the marine region's SMPN 7 Bintan who participated in the study. A group pre-test and post-test were part of the quasi-experimental methodology utilised in this investigation. Class 8A, which had twelve students as the experimental class, and class 8B, which had twelve students as the control class, were the two classes used in this study. To get data, the researcher administered a speaking test. The study's findings showed that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected, with a significance value of 0.046 < 0.05 and a T-test value of 1.758 > 1.717. In terms of students' speaking achievement for grade eight at SMPN 7 Bintan, it could be inferred that students taught using the show and tell method achieved better than students taught using the lecture method.} }
