		abstract={This study aimed to determine the effect of e-comics on students' writing ability at SMPN 12 Bintan. A quantitative pre-experimental method was used, and the sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. In this research design, a one-group pre-test post-test design was employed, with no control group. The data for this study were collected from 35 students in class 7.3 using written test instruments, namely pre-tests and post-tests. To determine whether there was a difference between before and after the treatment, the researcher used a t-test. The results of the data analysis conducted with SPSS showed that the sig value (2-tailed) 
was .000, which meant that the value was .000 < 0.05, and H0 was rejected. It was concluded that there was an effect of e-comics on students' writing ability at SMPN 12 Bintan.}
