This research used a quantitative method with quasi experimental design. The participants in this study were 7th grade students at Smpn 4 Bintan. Class 7b served as experimental group that was given treatment and class 7c as a control group that is not given treatment. The experimental class was given treatment used the think pair share learning model. The control class used group discussion. The data collection technique involved pre-test and post-test to measure students' reading skill. The result of this study showed that H1 was accepted with the average post-test score of students in the experimental class increased from 68.2 to 82.3. With a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.025 (<0.05). This result indicated that the think pair share learning model had a significant effect on students' reading skills.} }
