		abstract={The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the Duolingo application on the vocabulary mastery of students at SMKN 4 Tanjungpinang. This study used a quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design as its methodology. The population of the study was grade X students of SMPN 4 Tanjungpinang. The experimental class, namely class X TKJ 1, consisting of 34 students, was selected as a sample. The class will be given treatment using the Duolingo application. Multiple choice questions and matching up with a total of 20 questions were used as research tools for the pre and post tests. The T-test was used to assess the research data. Based on statistical analysis with a significance threshold of 5%, a significance value (sig 2-tailed) of 0.000 was obtained, which is less than the threshold of 0.05. The results of this study indicate that there is significant increase in vocabulary mastery of SMKN 4 Tanjungpinang students after receiving treatment with the duolingo application.}
