Among the heavy metals contained in liquid waste is chromium (Cr) which has high toxicity. One method that can be applied to remove heavy metals in liquid waste is the precipitation method using organic acids. In this research, the process of purifying electroplating waste and heavy metal degradation was carried out using the precipitation method using magnesium oxide (MgO), organic acids and calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2). The first process is the electroplating waste deposition process with the addition of magnesium oxide (MgO) with a weight concentration of 2 grams which aims to remove heavy metals in the electroplating waste. Next, the leaching process is carried out by mixing the solution with citric acid (C6H8O7) and oxalic acid (H2C2O4) with a concentration of 0.25 M. Then in the precipitation process the three solutions are mixed with calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 with a concentration of 0.25 M, 0.5 M and 0.75 M. Waste chromium before and after the deposition process is carried out will be tested using ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometry) testing which aims to determine the composition of the metal content (liquid phase). The addition of Magnesium Oxide (MgO) to the electroplating waste deposition process has the effect of reducing the concentration of several elements Chromium (Cr), Iron (Fe) and Calcium (Ca). The precipitation process using oxalic acid (H2C2O4) and citric acid (C6H8O7) with the addition of calcium hydroxide Ca (OH)2.} }
