		abstract={Stereotyping and stereotypes have always been an element of human society. They should have originated from our attempts to explain and understand the behaviors, values, languages, appearances, cultural practices, and ideals of others different from us. It should imagine that the social learning processes of observation and imitation were essential within the communication and interaction of societies and communities for both in-group and out-group contacts and encounters. In another case, the stereotype had pictured as problematic situations where the individual is at risk, with the actions or behavior of others towards the target against existing negative stereotypes. One of the cases is about Afro-Americans, when society only focuses on color and gender stereotypes, whereas stereotypes have created a new form, especially in a father figure. Through this autobiography movie: The Pursuit of Happyness, Chris Gardner, as the main character and an Afro-American father, breaks the negative stereotype created in U.S society in viewing Afro fathers. The writer applied a descriptive qualitative method and stereotype theory helped by narratology film in analyzing the data. This research shows that there are six aspects found as the writer's view: as educated, attention, supporting, financially responsible, diligent, and paternal bond.}
