This research is a field research using mixed methods combining qualitiative and quantitative methods. The research subject is household of Muslim fisherman in Langkat district and the primary data source using Slovin method is collected from 392 fishermen informants as sample from a total population of 19.252 fishermen of Langkat Regency. The result of this research shows that from the consumption pattern of nine sub-districts in Pangkalan Susu, Muslim fishermen household occupies the highest consumption level. They actually earn small income, but have big expense. From the ethnic based consumption pattern, the Malayness, compared with the other etnic groups namely, Acehness, Javaness and Batakness, are the most profligate group in consumption. From the need based consumption pattern, the results show that the need for the dharuriyah occupies the highest level. The simultaneous effect was 79% of income variable, number of household member, education, culture and religion affecting consumption pattern of the fishermen community and the remaining 21% isnot included in this research model. The income simultaneous test towards the number of household members, education, culture and religion consumption pattern of fishermenwith the formula F-calcutate> F-table or Ho1 is rejected. Partially, religion, income and the number of family members except education and culture have a significant influence. The result of different test with One Way Anova model shows that there is difference of consumption pattern innine sub-districts respectively. The difference can be seen from the aspect of total income, ethnic (tribe), need, cluster (territory) as described in descriptive above with F- calculate> F-table or 5, 121> 2.18 with p-value is <5% or Ho2 is rejected. From this result, the reseacher poposes the improvement of the consumptive patternof Muslim fishermen household in Langkat regency. The fishermen should be more wise in managing and using their income so that their life welfare could be increased. They should be able to control themselves in order to meet the needs of their life, so that their family's economic conditions become strong. They need to change their way of thinking of especially in managing finances both in a normal and difficult situation. This study found that the level of education does not affect the pattern of household consumption of fishermen. Notwithstanding, the fishermen should increase awareness of the importance of education to improve their life quality.
