abstract={In this modern era, there are many sophisticated technologies to support teaching and learning activities, Learning Management System happens to be a great help to manage the teaching and learning activities. At the English Language Education Study Program of Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University, most of the lecturers used LMS in order to conduct learning process. Therefore, the writer was intended to conduct this study to explore the application of Learning Management System at the English Language Education Study Program of Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University. The total respondents were 19 lecturers, consisting of 12 males and 7 females. The data were collected using questionnaire. The findings showed that (i) most of the lecturers used a non-commercial open-source LMS, called Bella, (ii) the lecturers preferred to choose the currently used LMS because of several reasons, the main reasons being that the LMS is the official LMS of the University and the facilities are complete and it is easy to use, (iii) the way the lecturers conducted the teaching and learning activities using the LMS varied. All the lecturers used the LMS to distribute materials to the students; only 11% of the lecturers conducted the teaching and learning activities only through LMS and the majority of them (89%) conducted the teaching and learning activities in conjunction with the other media, (iv) the extent to which the lecturers utilized the tools provided in the LMS varied; 5% of the them utilized most of the tools provided in the LMS to the fullest, while 95% of them utilized only some of the tools provided in the LMS, in conjunction with other media.}
