abstract={Hypertension or what is usually called high blood pressure is an increase in systolic blood pressure above normal, namely more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure more than 90 mmHg. Objective This research was to determine the relationship between knowledge and adherence to the DASH diet with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly in Mongolato Village, District. Gorontalo Regency Lake. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was 42 people. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling technique. Research results: Knowledge of the DASH Diet among the elderly was found that the majority of respondents had poor knowledge, namely 29 respondents (69.05%), and the least had good knowledge, 13 respondents (30.95%). Adherence to the DASH Diet in the elderly. The results showed that the largest number of respondents who adhered to the Dash diet were non-compliant, namely 28 respondents (66.67%), and the fewest were compliant, namely 14 respondents (33.33%). And the highest number of hypertension respondents in this study was mild, namely 20 respondents (47.62%), and the least was severe, namely 7 respondents (16.67%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge and adherence to the DASH diet and the incidence of hypertension in Mongolato Village, Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency.}
