		abstract={This research aims to determine the competency of village officials at the Puncak Mandiri Village Office, Sumalata District, North Gorontalo Regency. The research method uses a qualitative type. The research results show that (a) The level of knowledge of Puncak Mandiri Village Officials is still low. This can be seen from the low level of education possessed by Puncak Mandiri Village Officials and has implications for the slow implementation of their duties and the low level of work results of Puncak Mandiri Village Officials; (b) The skills of Puncak Mandiri Village Officials are still low. This can be seen from the lack of skill of village officials in completing work so that it takes quite a long time to complete a job and errors often occur in completing the work; (c) the capacity of Puncak Mandiri village officials is not optimal. This can be seen from a lack of work initiative and a lack of innovation by village officials in their work. This means that village officials wait more for orders to carry out their duties and are less able to solve problems independently}
