		abstract={Social interaction is a reciprocal relationship among individual with individual, individual with group and group with group. Social interaction in social life interact or relate to each other. A relationship is a process of social interaction in which social beings interact with their environment, both as individual and as member of a group. Students' social interactions are influenced by the use of gadgets. This study aimed to examine the effect of using gadgets on the students?social interaction at SMP Negeri 7 Palopo. The subjects in this study were 52 students of class IX SMP Negeri 7 Palopo. Sample was taken by purposive sampling technique. The results of this study show that there is a significant effect of the value 0.000 <0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Tcount is greater than t table (6.821 > 0.2732). From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the higher the use of gadgets, the lower the students?social interaction. On the other hand, the lower the use of gadgets, the higher the students?social interaction at SMP Negeri 7 Palopo.
