		abstract={The problem in this study was the methods used in learning were less varied or based on the whole material. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of learning outcomes of basic lay-up techniques in basketball through a one-two step approach to students of class VIII-2 at SMPN 2 Lamasi. This research was a classroom action research. The number of research subjects were 30 students consisting of 17 males and 13 females. The instrument of the research was a test instrument for learning basic lay up techniques. The data analysis technique used qualitative data analysis. Based on the results of the research in cycle I, there were 13 students (43.33%) completed and 17 students (56.67%) did not complete. Meanwhile, in the cycle II, there were 25 students (83.33%) completed and 5 students (16.67%) did not complete. Based on the average results, it can be concluded that there is an increase from cycle I to cycle II. The conclusion of this study show that the learning of Basic Lay Up Techniques in Basketball Through a One-two Step Approach to the students of class VIII-2 at SMPN 2 Lamasi has increased.
