The research was conducted based on the phenomenon that occurred
in class VII SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya which showed a low level of
interpersonal communication. The formulation of the problem in this
study is how the effectiveness of group guidance on word game
techniques in improving interpersonal communication of class VII
students of SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to
determine the effectiveness of group guidance on word game techniques
in improving interpersonal communication for class VII students of SMP
Negeri 5 Surabaya.
The research design used in this study was a one group pre-test posttest design, given to 6 students in grade VII_B who got low interpersonal
communication scores. The data collection method used in this research
is quantitative research. The instrument used is the interpersonal
communication measuremen scale.
The data analysis technique used by this researcher is non-parametric
analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the interpretation using
the Wilcoxon test is known that Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) is 0.028. Because
the value of 0.028 is smaller than < 0.05, it can be concluded that Ho is
rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on this, There is effectiveness in group
guidance services for word game techniques to improve interpersonal
communication for students class VII of SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya.}
