		abstract={This study aims to analyze flouting that found in a movie script using Griece?s theory in
pragmatics. The theories in pragmatics used to analyze the utterances is context, flouting of maxim
rules, and implicature. This research uses qualitative approach. This research is conducted by
using descriptive qualitative descriptive method because the result of analyzing the data is ?what?
question concerning specific occurences is answered. The research object in this study is The
Menu (2022) movie script Seith Reiss and Will Tracy. The research data are collected from several
utterances which are conveyed by several characters in The Menu (2022) movie script. The result
of this research is the type of flouting found in utterances in The Menu (2022) movie script are
flouting of maxim quantity, flouting of maxim quality, flouting of maxim relation, and flouting of
maxim manner. Therefore, all these results are used to explain the character?s reason why flouted
their utterances, which means they want to add another meaning behind the literal meaning.}
