abstract={Determination of the water bottom substrate types can be viewed using hidroakustik. This method is environmentally friendly and estimates used a relatively short time. The collection of acoustic data obtained by surveying as many 13 ESDU with a total distance of 24.05 nmi or 44.603 km for 3 days using acoustic equipment a single beam echosounder SIMRAD EK-15 with a single frequency of 200 kHz. Sampel collected by using ekman grab in 7 stations that using stratified random sampling method. The measurement results substrate category basedwaters, Triangle Shepard there are 4 types of clayeysand, clayeysilt, sand silt clayand silty clay. Substrate type classification surface backscattering strength (SS), there are 3 types of acoustic, clayey sand (-47.06 dB to -49.72 dB), sand silt clay (-50.79 dB to -51.50 dB) and silty clay (-52.68 dB to -53.76 dB). Clayey sand has avalue surface backscattering strength (SS) the bigges because clayey sand has a roughness (E1) of (-17.55 dB to -14.26 dB), hardness (E2) by (-48.23 dB to -41.03 dB) and the grain size is larger than other types of substrates. The correlation (r) between the surface backscattering strength (SS) and substrate type has a strong relationship or positive value that is 0.95.}
