@thesis{thesis, author={Nita and NYIMAS RAFIKA and Siti Rusdiana Puspa }, title ={EFEK EKSTRAK GAMBIR (UNCARIA GAMBIR) TERHADAP RASA NYERI PADA PENDERITA STOMATITIS AFTOSA REKUREN TIPE MINOR}, year={2019}, url={https://repository.unsri.ac.id/9681/}, abstract={Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is one of the most common ulcerative disease of the oral cavity. The prevalence of the minor type RAS is 80-87% of all. RAS causes discomfort so that the adequate care is needed to reduce the pain with minimal side effects. The purpose of this study was to evalute the effect of gambir extract (Uncaria gambir) on pain reduction of minor RAS. This experimental study was using pretest-posttest with control group consisted of 30 minor RAS patients in Oral and Dental Hospital in South Sumatra (RSKGM) and UPT clinic of Sriwijaya University. Subjects were divided into two groups : gambir extract group and plasebo group as control. The subjects of each group were instructed to apply gambir extract or plasebo three times daily for seven days. RAS pain was measured by using visual analog scale (VAS) on the baseline, the first day, third day and seventh day. There were significant differences of VAS scores on the third and seventh day in both groups (P<0,05). Based on the result of this study it can be concluded that gambir extract is able to reduce the pain caused by minor RAS.} }
