(2) How big is the level of development inequality between regions in East Nusa Tenggara Province? The types of data used are qualitative data and quantitative data. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of documentation and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study is the Williamson index calculation method. The results of the study show that: (1) Inequality of distribution is a problem of differences in income between developed communities or regions and underdeveloped regions. Based on the results of calculations using the Williamson Index, inequality in district/city income distribution in East Nusa Tenggara Province was the lowest in Central Sumba Regency, namely in 2017, which amounted to 0.0011. While the highest was in West Sumba Regency, namely in 2018, which amounted to 0.0227. (2) The causes of inequality in income distribution are high population growth, inflation, development inequality between regions, large investment in capital-intensive projects, import substitution industrial policies, deteriorating exchange rates. To reduce the level of inequality in income distribution, the government should make a development policy strategy that is more targeted and effective in solving the problem of inequality and poverty. but also the lower middle class.} }
