		abstract={Penelitian ini tentang novel Kidnapped yang merupakan sebuah novel 
petualangan yang ditulis oleh R.L. Stevenson. Novel ini memakai teori hero
journey yang dikemukakan oleh Joseph Campbell untuk mengetahui tahap 
separation, tahap initiation dan tahap return dari David Balfour di dalam novel. 
Setiap tahap dibagi menjadi beberapa langkah. Di penelitian ini, peneliti memakai 
metode kualitatif untuk menganalisa novel untuk mengetahui apakah semua tahap 
dari teori hero journey dapat diaplikasikan ke novel Kidnapped dan hasilnya 
dipresentasikan dalam narasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan
14 tahap hero journey didalam novel Kidnapped yang terdiri dari The Call of 
Adventure, Refusal of the Call, Supernatural Aid, Crossing of the First Threshold, 
Belly of the Whale, Road of Trials, Meeting with the Goddess, Atonement with the 
Father, Apotheosis, The Ultimate Boon, The Magic Flight, Rescue from Without, 
The Crossing of the Return Threshold, Master of Two Worlds dan Freedom to 
Live}
