		abstract={Brake system is reducing a speed of a thing by converting the kinetic energy into 
another form. There are two types of brakes, such as disc brakes and drum brakes. 
Maintenance of the brake system is routinely conducted at the time of service. Special 
service tools (SST) is a tool used for an individual in working on or repairing 
automotive components which cannot be carried out in the normal way. The research 
aimed to design special tools of drum brakes cleaner. The result of the research 
showed that the use of Service Special Tools saved more time in cleaning the brake 
and drum pads compared to using sandpaper media. 80% from 10 respondents said 
that they were satisfied with the result of brake pads and drum cleanser. Therefore, it 
can be concluded that the use of special tools in cleaning drum brake is more efficient 
than using sandpaper.}
