Abstract :
Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU) is the combination between Gas Fired Power Plant (PLTG) and Steam Fired Power Plant (PLTU). In the installation of PLTGU, an essential loads that needs direct current is exists. To fulfill the need of this direct current, it is required to have the well-count capacity and voltage of a battery in order to fulfill the needs of essential loads. If the loads are not supplied by battery or DC system it will cause the damage to the tools of essential loads mechanism and causing production loss. On power plant, the
DC systems are supplied by rectifier and battery, both of them are pararelism connected with the loads. In a normal condition, DC system will be supplied by the rectifier directly, but at the time of Blackout in the AC system the battery will work automatically to supply the essential loads in a certain range of time. Turbine gas battery of PLTGU Block 1 Muara Karang has the capacity of 669 Ah and spplying 323,2 A of essential loads. After the calculating is done, with this capacity, the battery can supply essential loads for 2 hours 4 minutes with the final voltage still above 1,98 Volt per cell. It then can be concluded that the battery on the turbine gas is still in a good condition.
