Abstract :
In unit 4 and 5 Steam Fired Power Plant (PLTU) Pembangkit Jawa Bali (PJB) Unit Pembangkitan Muara Karang has a capacity of 200 MW each which has been operating since 1979. Power Auxiliary in a steam fired power plant (PLTU) ranges from 5% - 6% of total electrical production, and is used to supply electric loads of low to medium voltage motors such as fans for combustion air supply, pumps for supplying filler water and cooling water, compressors for water services and instruments, and lighting. In Unit 4 and 5 of Steam Fired Power Plant (PLTU) operate 4160 V and 416 V voltage motors which are used as power auxiliary motors and along with the increasing age of the generating unit, it then will impact on decreasing the performance of the motor itself and causing a lot of power for the electrical production process. For this reason, an identification effort is needed to find out what equipment is causing power losses in the production process and to look for opportunities for improvement that can be implemented to approach the initial state of power consumption of the motor itself. And found some equipment that has a large power gap so that action needs to be taken to improve it so that the power loss is not greater.
