ABSTRACT
The 20kV Medium Voltage Air Line is part of a wide range Medium Voltage Distribution Network. Therefore a protection system is needed to maintain the reliability of the electric power system when delivering electrical energy. Recloser is one of the safety equipment that can detect overcurrent due to interference between phase and phase to the ground, where the recloser can break the current and close automatically so as to minimize the interference area in the feeder. Based on the analysis of the trip recloser, the feed can be seen if there is a disturbance after the recloser where the recloser cannot back up the disorder quickly so that the trip feeder PMT. This is because the recloser coordination arrangements are not optimal, by setting overcurrent relay and ground disturbance relays on outgoing, incoming and recloser, so it needs to be calculated and reviewed, so that the data obtained are outgoing short circuit current at OCR = 13042,9152 A and GFR = 951,8242 A, TMS incoming at OCR = 0,2649, t = 0,9 s and GFR = 0,3896, t = 0,9 s. Outgoing TMS at OCR = 0.321, t = 0.6, and GFR = 0.222, t = 0.6 s. TMS recloser at OCR = 0.159, t = 0.3 s, and GFR = 0.126, t = 0.2999 s. By using a recloser the potential for customer claims can be reduced if not using a recloser. So we get a payback period of 0.604 years.
