Abstract :
Maintenance of generating units required in Cilegon subsystem that is at the Labuan power plant unit U1 and Cilegon Power Plant Unit GT 1.2 in order to power quality and reliability of the power system is maintained. Therefore the equipment to be maintained must be removed from operation (not operated). The reduced supply of reactive power and large absorption of reactive power when peak load can result in voltage profile substation to be low. It also occurs in Cilegon IBT Subsystems 1 & 2, which consists of 20 substations. One of them is the lowest voltage before mounted capacitors found in substation PUCAM is 139.13 kV. In this study used quantitative method is to conduct field observations to obtain relevant data. In connection with efforts to improve the voltage profile can be done by installing capacitor at the substation PUCAM. Simulation determination of capacity capacitor using newton raphson load flow analysis method of trying some capacity capacitor with the help of software electrical power system analysis. The results of the simulation are mounting the capacitor with a capacity of 200 MVAR at the substation PUCAM can improve the voltage profile of subsystems during peak loads and the voltage at the substation PUCAM be 150.24 kV.
