Abstract :
In a system of steam power plants, there is an important tool for backing up the load - essential loads (essential) during a blackout. The tool is the Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG), Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) which serves as a backup power diesel. UJP Palabuhanratu in the power plant has three units of electricity supply systems and to maintain a stable supply of electricity when operating the unit and therefore its units each have an Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG). How it works using automatic and manual start, automatic start carried from the Central Control Room (CCR), while the manual start is performed in a unit of Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG). To keep the capacity of the Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) is not overloaded in the event of a blackout or interruption priority was load - essential loads (essential). Expenses - essential loads (essential) is divided into two boards, namely board A and board B, which had a load with a voltage of 400V and 230V, some load - essential loads (essential) with priority it is a Steam Turbine Jacking Oil Pump Motor, Generator Water Side Seal Oil Pump Motor, Generator Hydrogen Side Seal Oil Pump Motor, etc. So with the study of the proper use and maintenance of the Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) will be ready to operate without fear of overload when blackout.
