Abstract :
Asynchronous motors (induction motors) are widely used in power systems such as the Forced Draft Fan (FDF). In an electric power system, in order to operate reliably, a protection system is needed. The protection system plays an important role in detecting interference and to prevent damage caused by interference. A good protection system will isolate the area of interference and prevent outages in other systems that are not interrupted. The main protection systems in electric motors are Over current relay (OCR) and Ground fault relay (GFR). This will increase the reliability of the system by maintaining the continuity of the supply load. This final project aims to deliver a large electric motor protection study with a case study of the Forced Draft Fan (FDF) at the Banten 3 Lontar Power Plant Generation Services Unit. From the results of studies in this final project, we get the calculation of current and time settings which include Overcurrent protection and Ground fault protection. Steam power generation system on electric motor Forced draft fan. For this reason, it is necessary to reset the overcurrent and single phase current to ground relay planning. Electrical data collection required. Then determine the location of the overcurrent relay, calculate the impedance and short circuit current. After all is obtained, it is used to calculate the value of the setting current and the value of the working time of the relay. The results of the calculation of the value of the relay settings in the motor Forced draft fan 6 KV are for OCR (Instantaneous) the value of the primary current setting is 567 A and for the secondary current is 9.45 A. OCR (inverse time limit) the value of the primary current setting is 108 A and for the secondary current is 1.8 A The value of the working time setting is 12 seconds with a TMS value of 0.845 seconds. OCR (Definite) value of the primary current setting is 81 A and for the secondary current is 1.35 A. For GFR the primary current value is 5.4 A and for the secondary current is 0.08 A. The value of the working time setting is 0, 4 seconds with a TMS value of 0.2 seconds.
