ABSTRACT
The medium voltage distribution system in Jakarta is currently almost entirely using a Medium Voltage Cable Lines system. Medium Voltage Cable Lines are preferred because they are neater and the layout efficiency is more organized then Medium Voltage Air Lines. The two medium voltage distribution systems will not escape interference, especially the Medium Voltage Cable Lines. This certainly is a challenge for PLN to reduce the number of disruptions so that it can improve the reliability of the distribution system. To avoid failures in the cable system, it is necessary to check periodically by conducting a cable assessment with complete equipment. Cable assessment using the Very Low Frequency (VLF) method which in its test can measure its Partial Discharge by providing a test voltage. Some procedures for conducting cable assessments are Monitered Withstand Test (MWT) and Partial Discharge measurements : (1) Monitored Withstand Test (MWT), testing the cable insulation and measuring the leakage current which is carried out in stages in each phase; (2) Partial Discharge (PD) measurement, to measure the amount of load. The object being researched was at the GD71 substation of a place for measuring PD for the segments GD71 ? MN47 and GD71 ? MN51. Generate a report on the results of the second segment test that connects the crtical cable with PD Level Max with one pico Coulumb greater than 1000pC and PDIV using a nominal value below the nominal voltage (U0) in kilo Volts. When the measurement results are compared with the calculation results and by using the equation of the capacitance formula produced from the two parallel plates, the difference in the value of the comparison is very thin.
