Abstract :
In the distribution of electric power systems, starting from generation to distribution systems to customers is a long system. Of course it is not easy to manage and carry out
maintenance. Especially in high voltage transmission lines, where the network supplies high currents to the regions. As long as the transmission line does not escape the influence from outside or inside, which can cause interference with the transmission line. One of the internal influences that can cause interference with the electrical power distribution system is the occurrence of hotspots or overheating. Understanding the
hotspot itself is a condition in which the transmission system system has excessive heat losses caused by the amount of current flowing through an equipment. If an equipment
is not handled immediately, it will cause damage to the high voltage equipment. Then before that happens there must be a temperature measurement and the possibility of a hotspot, the handling must be done early, by placing a double jumper on the conductor. Double jumpers here as a current divider that will ease the flow of current at the jumper point, so that the heat losses caused are not too large.
