Abstract :
Testing equipment protection is the main thing before using the tools in the field. This remembers the function of protection equipment designed to work under normal conditions as well as interference. Thus, simulated-shaped testing is disruptions to protection equipment settings. Testing was conducted in the laboratory of the plant that produced it. In this case will test the functional Fault Locator that contained in the distance relay type 7SA87, with the help of test tool Omicron CMC356 to inject the value that has been taken. This test proved that Fault Locator on the distance relay worked well in finding the position of disruption in its zone protection. By providing a smaller impairment of each of the protection zones is zone 1 = 2 ?, Zone 2 = 4 ?, and Zone 3 = 8 ? then relay will give orders for trips.
