Abstract :
One of the electrical equipment at the distribution substation is the cubicle, the cubicle itself functions as a divider, breaker, connector, controller and protection of the 20 kV power distribution system. Partial discharge phenomenon is an event of release/ jumping electric sparks that occur in an isolation section (in the inner cavity or surface) as a result of the high potential difference in the isolation. To find out the phenomenon of partial discharge can be done in the form of observations online and offline. One method of observation is the TEV method where the observation is carried out by giving voltage and receiving back the voltage. Measurement of partial discharge in high voltage equipment is very important because the data obtained and its interpretation can be determined the reliability of an equipment caused by aging and the risk of failure can be analyzed. The measurement results will be obtained in the form of a partial discharge value in decibels (dB) and shown in the TEV waveform. So that when observing partial discharges do not interfere with distribution substation activities, online partial discharge observations are conducted.
