Abstract :
Substation is one place to channel the energy from the power plant to the consumer. In the substation there is equipment that supports the performance, one of which is a power breaker (PMT). The device serves as a liaison back breaker and load current in normal and abnormal circumstances. The circuit breaker must be maintained regularly, maintenance includes cleaning and testing. Contact resistance is one of the testing. This test is used to determine the value of the contact resistance in accordance with standard PMT. High resistance value which affects the power losses, due to the power loss is the square of the current multiplied by the contact of prisoners. This study was conducted to analyze the impact on power losses and losses of energy by comparing the contact resistance value in 2018 and 2019. The results obtained are very small power loss ie the highest power loss is S phase 4.352 W or 0.004352 kW in 2018, while the lowest power loss is phase T in 2019 which is 3.122 W or 0.003122 kW. The value of contact resistance also affects the temperature, where the higher the value of contact resistance, the higher the flowing temperature, so that the PMT contact can no longer withstand the temperature according to its ability and there is an explosion in the contact PMT and cause incoming trips that lose 10,567 kWh.
