Abstract :
Power transformers are very important equipment in a substation because the transformer is a connecting device from one system to another with a different voltage. For this reason, it is necessary to have a protective device so that the stability of the system can be maintained from interference with the power transformer and the process of channeling electrical energy continues to the consumer. To reduce the impact of disruption to the power transformer and maintain the continuity of electricity that can be used, a protection system is needed according to the needs. The protection function is to reduce interference so that only the affected area is released from the electric power circuit and must also consider the level of safety of the equipment, the stability of electric power and also security for humans. By application the security or protection system, the
power transformer can be protected from disturbances. This final project discusses the differential relay settings for internal interference of 60 MVA transformer in Karet Lama Substation, so that the correct calculation and settings are expected in the event of a relay interference the protection will work properly in accordance with the protection function, namely as a safety. The study was carried out by taking data on the substation
karet lama and then doing theoretical calculations to get the settings according to calculations. The results of theoretical calculations obtained differential relay settings of 11.763% for slope1, 23.526% for slope2 and setting currents of 0.480 A. Then short circuit disturbance calculations were carried out to find out the differential current value when a fault occurred and compare it with the current setting. The calculation results show the
relay will work in the event of a short circuit current interference of 800 A on the side of 150 kV and 8345 A on the side of 20 kV
