Abstract :
Natural disasters cause material losses and casualties. Today many detector devices are used to detect the occurrence of natural disasters. Monitor the water level in the rainy season is very important, especially in areas prone to flooding. Currently water level measurements at the sluice done manually by placing a ruler on a large sluice walls. Therefore, the authors conducted a study to create a tool that can help detect the water level automatically. In this study, the authors designed a water level detector to solve the existing problems. In this design the author uses the method prototype. With the first stage of making a tool that collects needs to be used, then build prototyping to create a temporary design, then evaluate the prototype is already in line with the requirements, then do the coding work and the next step is to test whether the appliance running properly or not. Once the system is fit and running well it will perform maintenance. The results of the design above is the author making a water level detector that can be used in the sluice. The workings of these tools, namely when the water level increases, the sensor is controlled by an arduino uno will be in the on position and the LED indicator light will be lit. Tool will send output data on flood alert status to be transmitted through the GSM shield Arduino format SMS (short massage service). Tool will send a flood alert status each time interval of 1 minute
