Abstract :
Changes in a load will affect the generator output voltage. If it increases, the generator output voltage decreases and if the load falls, the generator output voltage rises. So that it is needed a voltage regulation that will return the generator output voltage to the system voltage or nominal voltage which is 11 kV. The generator output voltage regulation system is done by regulating the generator excitation current. In regulating the excitation current there are some limitations that must be considered, namely maintaining the excitation current so that it is not too low and not too high. So in this study an analysis of excitation settings based on the nature of loading, the relationship of excitation with terminal voltage, the relationship of electromotive force with terminal current and calculating the voltage regulation of the generator. It was found that the excitation current at the 44.8 MW power load was 99.5% of the full load (44.8 MW of 45 MW) and the injected excitation current was 78.43% of the full load excitation current.
