Abstract :
Transformers are widely used, both in the electric and electronic fields. We know that transformers contain oil that functions as an insulator. Normally this oil also functions as a cooler so that the transformer does not heat. For that it is necessary to test tarfo oil by means of transformer oil purification can increase oil breakdown voltage. This research discusses how the breakdown voltage condition of transformer oil before purification, how the transformer oil breakdown voltage condition after purification and whether the breakdown voltage condition of the transformer oil after purification is in accordance with the SPLN breakdown voltage standard. The method I use is quantitative methodology. The results of the test of the transformer breakdown voltage test before purification was 34.33 kV and after purification was 62.16 kV. From these results the transformer oil which after being purified was declared good because it was in accordance with SPLN_D3_014-2_2010_1 the oil must meet the requirements of IEC 60296 breakdown voltage ? 50 kV/2.5mm.
