Abstract :
PLN (Persero) is a provider of electricity in Indonesia. In the distribution of electric power, not all of it can be distributed to consumers, because it will be lost in the form of energy losses. Transformer is one type of electrical equipment required in the distribution of electric power. The transformer (step up) on the generating unit serves to increase the voltage generated by the generator which is then distributed to the electrical current so that the electrical current is sent to the substation to reduce the voltage through the voltage down transformer (step down) to medium voltage or also called the primary voltage. testing the breakdown voltage is expected to be a reference material to maintain the performance or life of the transformer. Testing using the Megger OTS80PB Breakdown Voltage test tool Testing the breakdown voltage using the IEC 60156-1995 method. For the evaluation of oil on the power transformer determine the water content. The feasibility of transformer oil uses a breakdown voltage and water content testing as a result of feasibility simulations based on international standards to improve reliability in the treatment of power transformers in the industrial world, especially for community service. With a greater breakdown voltage, this proves that the oil is still suitable for use. Transformer oil, according to the PLN test standard (SPLN) 49-1 / 1982 must have a breakdown voltage of 30kV / 2.5mm. In this study the container is very influential in taking samples so in this study the results of transformer 1, transformer 2 and transformer 3 have a voltage of 49.4 kV / 2.5 mm, 44.3 kV / 2.5 mm, 41.1 kV / 2.5 mm can still be continued for the use of insulation.
