Abstract :
An electric motor that is used continuously will experience a decrease in performance even damaged, maintenance and repair of electric motors must be carried out based on the standard so that all existing specifications can be fulfilled and repairs worthy of acceptance. In this case, motor repair is done by the overhaul, where the overhaul is a thorough repair or maintenance activity by repairing or replacing parts of the electric motor that has been damaged. Based on visual data and electrical measurements of the polarization index (PI) induction motors are caused by dirty and humid winding conditions. Overhaul is done with 8 stages, namely; Planning, dismantling, electrical measurements, mechanical measurements, electrical action, mechanical action, assembling and running test no load. After the overhaul is obtained the result that the polarization index (PI) value increased by 1.4 from the previous 1.8 to 3.2, above the standard value set by IEEE 43, and based on the motor running test data has fulfilled the operating feasibility standards Set by EASA AR 100.
