Abstract :
One of the main tasks of an electric company is to produce electricity that can be relied on by customers. The disruption of electricity supply is increasingly intolerable to customers because of very heavy social and economic impacts. Supply reliability is one of the key factors in making decisions for the development of electric power generation, transmission and distribution systems. Problems that often occur in distribution channels are short circuit disturbances and other disturbances. Often the location of the disturbance is not immediately detected / cannot be immediately known where the location is, thus slowing down the handling process. To meet these demands PLN uses reliable quality distribution technology, namely Ground Fault Detector (GFD). In this paper, it is proposed how to detect interference with the help of a Ground Fault detector so that the location of the fault is faster. The results show that before the installation of the old GFD disturbance in 2017 the disturbance was 103 minutes while in 2018 the GFD had been installed which was 48 minutes and PLN could also reduce the unsold kWh so that PLN could save Rp 8,471,925 per disturbance after the GFD was installed .
