Abstract :
At present the demand for service to customers is very high, especially related to the continuity of electricity distribution to customers. For networks that use Medium Voltage Cable Channels (SKTM) in PLN UP3 Serpong itself is the dominant network used. The cause of dominant disruption in the SKTM network occurs at the connection point between cables or what is called Jointing. By using the Power Quality Meter, several events can be recorded. One event that can result in a reduced ability to isolate an equipment to withstand overvoltages is the Swell event, which is an overvoltage event that is briefly caused by a sudden change in load. The equipment used to cut Swell that occurs in tissues is Arrester. Arrester works to cut the excess voltage that occurs to the level of 110%. In the SKTM feeder the protective equipment to withstand the overvoltage that occurs does not yet exist, so that if an excess voltage occurs it will be felt by all connected equipment. This will reduce the equipment's insulation capability. For this reason, a breakthrough is needed to minimize the overvoltage that occurs in the SKTM by installing an Arrester Cubicle to Reduce SKTM Feeder Disorders. The installation of Arrester Cubicles on SKTM feeders is expected to have an impact on reducing SAIFI, SAIDI, decreasing feeder interference times, especially reducing SKTM feeder disturbances due to jointing and ground cables.
