Abstract :
One of the problems in industrial level is the issue of power factor or cos ? is low, due to the use of the loads that are reactive. With poor power factor cos ? is lower than 0.85 kvar, will result in reactive power consumption is very large. In the industrial use of reactive power will increase the total power usage customers, the increased value of the current flowing in the customer's network and charged according to the standards set by the PT. PLN (Persero). One way to improve the power factor is to install a capacitor bank. Power factor correct I3 with the initials RR. To raise the power factor of customer RR from 0.791 to 0.95 needed capacity of capacitors at 51736.03 VAR, with these improvements reduced total power consumption of 146,576.6 VA into 122,019.8 VA and reduced current becomes 6.4043A from 7.6932 A. To correct the power factor, it need instal 15 step bank capacitor with 5 kVAR suplay capacity for each steps
