Abstract :
kWh Meter is a device used to measure or calculate how much energy consumption is used by consumers. kWh meters are divided into two types namely analog kWh meters and digital kWh meters. along with the times of many innovations that are increasingly developing, one of which is with the presence of a digital kWh meter instead of analog kWh meters. In terms of use both of them must have advantages and disadvantages. The replacement of analog kWh meters to digital kWh meters is one of the efforts of PT. PLN to improve the reliability of meter reading devices that previously used analog kWh meters. In this study, researchers conducted a study of the replacement of analog kWh meters to digital kWh meters that occurred at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Kramat Jati. From the results of the kWh meter study can be said to be good by looking at the side of the accuracy class, but the smaller class can be said that the kWh meter has a good reading accuracy. in PLN UP3 Kramat Jati itself the digital kWh meter is better classified than the analog kWh meter according to the level of accuracy, while in terms of reading the bill, the two kWh meters have in common ie readings are done periodically every month to find out the bill on the customer, while in terms of the age of the analog kWh meter is more favored than the digital kWh meter.
