Abstract :
Current Transformer (CT) commonly called current transformer is a device that changes the amount of current from large to small or vice versa according to the needs needed so that it can be used as input on metering devices and intermediaries for measuring flows, where there is limited reading ability. For example, in a high voltage channel system, the current flowing is 2000A, while the measuring device is only limited to 5 A. Then a CT is needed that changes the actual representation of 2000A values in the field to 5A so that it is read by a measuring instrument. The CT function is to obtain a current that is proportional to the current to be used, and to separate the circuit from the system whose current is to be measured (which is then called the primary circuit) to the circuit where the instrument is connected (hereinafter called a secondary circuit with a current of 1 A or 5 A that is used for measurement or protection Because of the difference between the incoming current on the primary side and the one read on the secondary side, it can cause a difference in the actual current transformation ratio, if CT is used for energy measurement (kWh), this current error is very affect energy measurement.
