Abstract :
The earthing system of Wates substation is located in the coastal area and has a layered soil structure, and also the performance of arrester used to cut indirect lightning surge not working optimally leading to high PMT trip and isolator flash. This is due to the number of ground resistances which exceeds the standard of PLN <5 ohms. Therefore, the grounding system in the Wates substation area must be repaired by planting the syringe grounding all over at the rise pole Wates substation, the base of the resistance value becomes <5 ohms. With the value of grounding resistance values below 5 ohms, then it is in accordance with the standards of PLN and will provide a very important role for human safety around the substation. The analysis of this final project is to find the minimum rating on the injection grounding system.
